Washington 65: 112; 1958, Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington 71: 180. Shelley, 1978, J. Nat. Hist. 12: 51. Hoffman, 1999, Virginia Mus. Nat. Hist. Special Publ. 8: 209. Shelley recorded this species from eight Piedmont counties in North Carolina, but as some of the records were based on females or juveniles, the distribution may be more restricted or undescribed species may have been included.
