Description of Kutzneria buriramensis RMD 3Y-3-1

Cells are Gram-staining-positive, non-flagellated and rod-shaped. Colonies are undulate, dry, flat and white-colored after 2 days on ISP4 at 30°C. Positive for β­galactosidase in API 20NE but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease, esculin hydrolysis and gelatinase. L-Arabinose and malate are utilized. Does not utilize D-glucose, D-mannitol, D-mannose, N-acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, gluconate, caprate, adipate, citrate and phenylacetate. Strain RMD 3Y-3-1 (= NIBRBA 0000114879) has been isolated from ginseng soil, Anseong, Korea.
