Irvine name. Latilus semifasciatus Norman. Reference material. Accra, February 1930 (Irvine 44)— BMNH 1930.8 .26.44 (H: 246 mm SL); Accra , BMNH 1938.12.15.14–15 (two: 214, 228 mm SL). Distribution. Coast of West Africa from Morocco to Angola Africa (Quéro et al., 1990). Described as a new species, Latilus semifasciatus , from Irvine’s material by Norman (1931: 356, figure 3).
