Genus Atractotomoidea Yasunaga, 1999 View in CoL
Atractotomoidea Yasunaga, 1999: 190 View in CoL (n. gen.); Yasunaga, 2001: 154 (diag.); Duwal et al. 2010b: 7 (diag.).
Type species: Atractotomoidea castanea Yasunaga, 1999 (original designation).
Diagnosis. Generally recognized by tiny, chestnut brown body; uniformly distributed with minute dark spots on dorsal surface furnished with simple, pale and sub-erect pubescence; sub-equal antennal segment III and VI; hooked posterior process of left paramere; mesially coiled endosoma bifurcated apically. For detail description see Yasunaga, 1999.
Distribution. Japan, Korea (South), Nepal, Thailand.
Remarks. Due to recent documentation of Atractotomoidea from various regions of Japan ( Yasunaga 1999; 2010), Korea, Nepal ( Duwal et al. 2010b) and Thailand ( Yasunaga 2010) it is assumed that the genus might be abundant around Southern and Eastern Asia.
Though, the genus exhibits a wide host range, inhabiting various plant families: Asteraceae , Cupressaceae , Cephalotaxaceae , Eriacaceae, Fagaceae , Fabaceae , Oleaceae , and Pinaceae in Japan and Nepal ( Yasunaga 2010, Duwal et al. 2010b), whereas Korean fauna is restricted in Fabaceae .
