Genus Metopina Macquart, 1835 View in CoL View at ENA
Six species of this genus were recently treated in the Israeli fauna ( Mostovski, 2016). These are Metopina braueri (Strobl, 1880) , M. heselhausi Schmitz, 1914 , M. kuslitzkyi Mostovski, 2016 , M. obsoleta Beyer, 1960 , M. pileata Schmitz, 1936 , and M. ulrichi Disney, 1979 . One more species of Metopina is herein reported from the country for the first time.
While all possible care was exercised during preparation of my article on Israeli Metopina ( Mostovski, 2016) , an embarrassing error crept in inadvertently in the spelling of Metopina braueri , which inexplicably appeared as ‘ Phara ’ braueri on page 62 of the paper. (The valid name Phara Walker, 1850 refers to a subgenus of the horse fly genus Philoliche Wiedemann, 1828 . There is also an invalid name Phara Walker, 1854 in Arctiidae .) This mistake must be treated as lapsus calami.
