Etymology. 䥴 楳 our great p汥asure to name t桩s species for t桥 col汥ctor of the holotype, Roy F. Morris, 䥉. It s桯u汤 be noted t桡t this 楳 the second new spec楥s to be descr楢ed t桡t was d楳covered b礠Roy in t桥 Ohoopee dune s祳tem of Georg楡, t桥 first being 䍲ossidius grahami Morr楳 and Wappes, 2013.

Biology. Most Pl敳ioclytus morrisi spec業ens 桡ve been taken by sweeping or hand co汬ecting from gop桥r app汥, Licania michauxii Prance , or wood礠goldenrod, 䍨rysoma pau捩flos捵losa M楣haux dur楮g Ma礠and June w楴栠an aberrant record fro洠October.Accord楮g to Roy Morr楳, w桯 has co汬ected t桥 vast 浡jorit礠of the known spec業ens, the礠are most often associated w楴栠s浡汬 and singu污r p污nts, rather than 污rge or clusters, of p污nts (F楧. 10-11). Althoug栠Mr. Morris has invest楧ated other areas of somew桡t s業ilar sandy 桡b楴ats 楮 Georgia and nort栠Flor楤a, where gop桥r app汥 and wood礠go汤enrod are found, he has not been successfu氠楮 f楮ding the new species outside the rel楣t sand dunes ( Fig. 8-9 View Figures 8-11 ) of 䕭anuel and Tattnal氠count楥s Georgia (for a further account of t桩s hab楴at see Morr楳 and Wappes 2013). One can speculate t桡t t桥 p污nts P. morrisi has been found s楴ting on and swept from may not be the 桯st(s), or t桡t other unknown b楯汯g楣a氠factors are 楮volved 楮 汩mit楮g its distribut楯n.
