Oropezella undulata View in CoL sp. nov.
( Figs 101–108 View FIGURES 101 – 108 , 124)
Diagnosis. Scutum entirely covered with scattered gray pruinescence, yellow on presutural region and brown on the remaining scutum; mesopleuron brown with yellowish median longitudinal stripe; femora, tibiae and base of tarsomeres 1 and 2 yellow, tarsomeres 3–5 brown; wing smoothly brownish with golden iridescence.
Etymology. From the Latin “ unda ” (wave), in reference to the sinuous-shaped articulated distal portion of the phallus.
Description. Holotype male. Body: 2.4 mm. Wing: 2.2 mm. Head: antenna brown located above middle of head; scape as long as pedicel; postpedicel ovate short, 2.5 times longer than wide, as long as scape and pedicel combined; stylus bare, apical. Ocellar triangle not protuberant, two pairs of short ocellar setae, almost fully erect. Narrowly dichoptic; frons elongate, about two-thirds length of face, linear. Proboscis yellow; palpus brown bearing 1 elongate apical and 1 shorter lateral bristle. Postcranium black with pale pruinescence; postocular setae elongate, scattered. Thorax: entirely covered with scattered gray pruinescence; scutum yellow on presutural region and postpronotal lobe, brown on remaining scutum; mesopleuron brown with median yellowish longitudinal stripe. Bristles thin, short and scattered; acr and dc uniserial. Differentiated bristles: 1 long and strong npl; posterior dc slightly longer than anterior dc; 1 pal short; 1 long and strong apical sctl and 1 lateral thin bristle, half length of apical. Wing (Fig. 124): sub-hyaline with golden iridescence; R1 meeting C before middle of wing; cell cu p present. Legs: coxae and trochanters pale yellow, femora, tibiae and base of tarsomeres 1 and 2 yellow, tarsomeres 3–5 brown. Differentiated bristles: hind tibia with 1D at middle; hind femur with 1AV at basal third and 1AV at distal third; mid tibia with 1D near middle and 1AV at middle. Abdomen: shiny; tergites brown, with pale pruinescence on lateral margins and on segment 8; sternite pale brown. Bristles brown, thin, short and scattered. Terminalia: hypandrium about 1.5 times longer than wide, with truncate apex ( Fig. 101 View FIGURES 101 – 108 ); epandrium not deeply cleft dorsally, epandrial lamellae broadly fused basally ( Fig. 102 View FIGURES 101 – 108 ); left epandrial lamella slightly shorter than right, with short dorsoapical process, slender in lateral view ( Fig. 104 View FIGURES 101 – 108 ) and widened distally in dorsal view ( Fig. 102 View FIGURES 101 – 108 ); left surstylus distinctly curved inward ( Fig. 104 View FIGURES 101 – 108 ), right surstylus broad in lateral view ( Fig. 105 View FIGURES 101 – 108 ); articulated distal portion of phallus sinuous, long, more than 1.5 times length of basal portion, basal process pilose, short and robust basally ( Fig. 103 View FIGURES 101 – 108 ). Female. Similar to male. Ovipositor ( Figs 106–108 View FIGURES 101 – 108 ): eighth segment somewhat short; tergite 8 cleft medially on distal margin; sternite 8 broad, about 1.5 times longer than wide.
