Distribution in North Carolina: All regions. Counties: BL, BU, CH, CK, CO, CS, CT, CU, DD, DU, GA, GH, GU, HA, HF, HO, JH, MA, NH, OR, PE, RB, ST, SO, WK, WS, WY, YK (material examined) and BN, CA, HW, ME, MO (in literature).

Distribution in surrounding states: GA ( Snelling 1988, Ipser et al. 2004), SC ( Davies 2009), TN ( Snelling 1988, Lessard et al. 2007) and VA ( Kjar 2009).

Camponotus obliquus Smith, 1930 * (rarely collected species)

Distribution in North Carolina: Eastern part of the state. Counties: BA, CT, ED, OR and WK (material examined).

Distribution in surrounding states: SC (MacGown 2012b).
