Distribution in North Carolina: Central and eastern parts of the state. Counties: BL, CH, CK, CU, DD, DP, DR, HA, JH, NO, OR, PM, RB, SA, ST, WK, WY (material examined) and CR, CT, DU, IR, ME, MO, NA, NH, SC, UN (in literature).

Distribution in surrounding states: GA ( Brown 1953, Deyrup and Cover 2009), SC ( Davies 2009) and TN ( Dennis 1938, Brown 1953, Deyrup and Cover 2009).

Temnothorax bradleyi (Wheeler, 1913) (rarely collected species)

Distribution in North Carolina: Piedmont Plateau. Counties: MO and WK (material examined).
