Type material. Holotype ♂, South Korea, Gangwon-do , Pyeongchang-gun , Jinbu-myeon, Ganpyeong-ri, 28.v.2015, light trap (J. Kim), ( CNU) .— Paratypes: 10 ♂, same data as holotype .

Diagnosis. Kim & Jung (2016) provided differential diagnosis of Harpocera josifovi and we republish the text here “differs from other species of Harpocera as follows: antennae dark brown in male, second antennal segment 2.2 times as long as first antennal segment; vertex without a longitudinal line; frons with an indistinct longitudinal yellow line; scutellum dark brown without a longitudinal line; apex of scutellum with pale brown spot; apical half of hindfemur dark brown, posterior margin of hindfemur with long setae; ventral aspect of abdomen with pale brown stripes; right paramere with a somewhat long hypophysis, sclerite of endosoma somewhat thick, apex of endosoma short”.

Etymology. Named after Dr. Michail Josifov, a prominent heteropteran taxonomist for the mirid fauna of North Korea; a noun in genitive case ( Kim & Jung 2016).
