Description:—Annual herb. Root length 3.5–16.5 cm. Stem is quadrangular, ascending to erect and branched at the base. The stem is approximately 7-37 cm height, patent hirsute or pilose, sparsely retrorse. Basal leaves are simple, ovate to ovate-oblong, 11–55 × 10–34 mm, rarely pilose, petiolate (petiole 8–39 mm). Median leaves 8–55 × 7–37 mm, petiolate (petiole 2–50 mm), edges crenate to doubly crenate, venation reticulate-pinnate. Upper leaves coarsely dentate to pinnatifid. Bracts are ovate to oblong, 13–40 × 13–15 mm, pinnatifid or pinnatipartit. Bracteoles are oblanceolat or ovate, 2.4–6.8 × 1.2–3.3 mm, hirsute. Calyx is 4–15 mm, with ciliate hairs, bilabiate 10–veined, upper lip lanceolate. Bilabiate corolla is deep mauve–pink hood and, purple spotted lower lip. The corolla is 19–30 mm. Stigma is bifid. Stamens are didynamous.Nutlets are 2.28–2.6 × 1.04–1.45 mm, ovate in outline and trigonous in cross section. The nutlets are dark brownish-blackish and surface glabrous ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ).
