Djeboa multidentata ferruginea K. Viets 1914: 219 . Mideopsis (Djeboa) ferruginea Cook 1966: 233 .

Material examined: Type series: SMF, Cameroon; lectotype female, here designated, K. Viets 43194, “ Kamerun, Manoka b. Duala, Bach, 4.1.1912, Damköhler leg. 1296”; paralectotype female: same site and date, “1300”.

General features: Dorsal shield oval (L/W ratio 1.1), with medial depression ( Figs. 39G–I View FIGURE 39 A – L ); muscle scars with moderately pronounced thickenings, located anterior and posterior to the postocularia; central portion of dorsal shield light blue; gnathosomal bay of a modified Y-shape (gradually narrowing in posterior half, intermediate between typically Y- or V-shape); tips of Cx-I ending posterior to frontal margin; medial margin of Cx-IV reduced to a median angle; Cx-III and -IV with numerous longitudinal striae. Palp comparatively short and stocky ( Fig. 20D View FIGURE 20 A – F ): P-1 without a dorsal seta; P-2 inflated with convexly bowed dorsal margin; P-3 proximally as high as long; P-4 equally narrowing from base to tip. Legs: I-L ( Fig. 20E View FIGURE 20 A – F ) with I-L-6 L/H ratio 2.5, ventral margin strongly protruding; IV-L: Fig. 20F View FIGURE 20 A – F .

Discussion: The combination of a comparatively short and stocky palp with P-1 lacking dorsal seta and P-3 proximally as high as long, and Cx-III/IV with numerous longitudinal striae separates D. ferruginea from all other members of the genus.

Distribution: Cameroon (K. Viets 1914), Liberia (Cook 1966), Zimbabwe (K.O.Viets 1970), Côte d’Ivoire (first record), Ghana (first record).
