Type series: Holotype female, dissected and slide mounted, South Africa, DC 85 84 Eastern Transvaal, Houtbosloop on Rt 539 at “dinosaur park” S of Sabie, 20 m wide – sand and rocks, 11˚C, 27.v.1984 Cook. Paratypes: same data as holotype, 0/2/0 (slide mounted).

Further records: South Africa, DC 76 84, Eastern Transvaal, Sterkspruit on Rt. 539 at border between Nelspruit & Belfast districts, 5–10 m wide, swift-clear-rocks, coll. in area of detritus, 12 ˚C, 23.v.1984 Cook, 2/1/0 (slide mounted).

Diagnosis: Dorsal shield oval (L/W ratio 1.1), with medial depression; muscle scars with moderately pronounced thickenings, extending to the edges of medial depression (39C–D); gnathosomal bay Y-shaped; tips of Cx-I slightly posterior to frontal margin. Palp ( Figs. 16C View FIGURE 16 A – E , 17B View FIGURE 17 A – B ): P-1 with a dorsal seta; P-2 with slightly concave ventral and strongly convex dorsal margins; P-3 ventral margin with basal inflation, from there to distal edge straight, equally narrow; P-4 slender, ventral margin slightly concave. Legs: I-L ( Fig. 16D View FIGURE 16 A – E ) with I-L-6 L/H ratio 2.7–3.0, ventral margin convex; IV-L: Fig. 16E View FIGURE 16 A – E ; swimming setae numbers: III-L-4, 3-4; III-L-5, 5; IV-L-4, 4-5; IV- L-5, 4.
