Material examined. Moravia mer., Vítonice, 11.viii.2011, 1M, P. Marhoul leg., det. et coll.
E. bordigalensis is a xerothermic species living on forest-steppes and steppes. It is widespread throughout northern Africa, Spain, southern Europe, and the southern part of Central Europe to the Caucasus. There are four subspecies. The nominotypic one occurs in Central Europe (Kočárek et al. 2005), where it reaches the northern edge of its distributional range.
E. bordigalensis had not been observed in the CR since 1962, and only one record has been known from the Pavlovské vrchy hills (Chládek 1973). Because of the scarcity of records, the species has been considered to be vulnerable (Chládek 1995). Recently, however, it has been repeatedly found at several localities in southern Moravia (Holuša et al. 2007d, as noted earlier in this report).
