Type locality: Guatemala, Chimaltenango department, Yepocapa ( Brennan and Dalmat

1960). Type host: Desmodus rotundus (É. Geoffroy, 1810) ( Chiroptera : Phyllostomidae ).

Type depository: USNM (holotype and paratypes) and NHMUK (paratypes). Records from Panama. This species was reported from four bats, Carollia castanea H. Allen, 1890 ( Chiroptera : Phyllostomidae ) from Cerro Hoya National Park, Los Santos Province, M. megalotis ( Chiroptera : Phyllostomidae ) from Fuerte Kobbe, Panama Province, G. soricina and C. subrufa ( Chiroptera : Phyllostomidae ) from Bocas del Toro Province and one emballonurid bat, S. bilineata ( Chiroptera : Emballonuridae ) from Chepo, Panama Province and El Valle de Antón, Coclé Province ( Brennan and Yunker 1966).
