Type locality: Mexico, Tamaulipas State ( Hoffmann 1952). Type host: Mormoops megalophylla (Peters, 1864) ( Chiroptera : Mormoopidae ). Type depository: UNAM (holotype and paratypes) and USNM (paratypes). Panama records. This species was found parasitizing Pteronotus gymnonotus (= Pteronotus suapurensis ) Wagner, 1843 ( Chiroptera : Mormoopidae )
in the Chilibrillo caves, Chilibre, Panama Province ( Brennan and Yunker 1966). Other records. Bahamas ( Brennan 1967), Costa Rica (Webb and Loomis 1971), Cuba ( Daniel and Stekolnikov 2003b), Curaçao ( Brennan 1967), Puerto Rico ( Kurta et al. 2007), Mexico (Webb and Loomis 1971; Webb and Loomis 1977), Trinidad and Tobago ( Brennan and Jones 1960), USA ( Brennan and White 1960 ; Webb and Loomis 1971), Venezuela ( Brennan and Reed 1975).
