Type locality: Mexico, Chiapas State ( Hoffmann 1954). Type host: Neotoma mexicana (= Neotoma ferruginea ) Baird, 1855 ( Rodentia : Cricetidae ). Type depository: USNM (holotype and paratype) and CSULB (paratype). Panama records. Brennan and Yunker (1966) reported this species from two cricetid rodents, Scotinomys teguina Alston, 1877 ( Rodentia : Cricetidae ) and Peromyscus mexicanus (= Peromyscus nudipes ) (Saussure, 1860) ( Rodentia : Cricetidae )

in Cerro Punta, Chiriquí Province. Other records. Mexico ( Hoffmann, 1954 ; Loomis, 1969).
