Type locality: Panama, Panama Province (Yunker and Jones 1961). Type host: Pteronotus rubiginosus (= Chilonycteris rubiginosa ) (Wagner, 1843) ( Chiroptera : Mormoopidae ). Type depository: USNM (holotype and paratypes), NHMUK (paratypes), OSAL (paratypes)

and FMNH (paratypes). Panama records. Yunker and Jones (1961) reported this species from Carollia perspicillata (L., 1758) ( Chiroptera : Phyllostomidae ), in the Chilibrillo caves, Chilibre, Panama Province. Brennan and Yunker (1966) reported this species on two additional bat species, Pteronotus parnellii Gray, 1843 ( Chiroptera : Mormoopidae ) from Paraíso and Lake Alajuela, Panama Province and C. perspicillata ( Chiroptera : Phyllostomidae ) from Pacora, Panama Province.
