Type locality: Mexico, Mexico State, Tonatico (Hoffmann 1960). Type host: Desmodus rotundus (É. Geoffroy, 1810) ( Chiroptera : Phyllostomidae ). Type depository: UNAM (holotypes and paratypes). Panama records. This species was found on a mormoopid bat, P. parnellii ( Chiroptera : Mormoopidae ) in the Chilibrillo caves, Chilibre, Panama Province ( Brennan and Yunker 1966). Other records. Bahamas ( Brennan 1967), Mexico (Hoffmann

1960; Loomis 1969; Webb and Loomis 1977), Puerto Rico ( Kurta et al. 2007), Trinidad and Tobago ( Brennan and Jones 1960).
