Type locality: Trinidad and Tobago, Sangre Grande city, Melajo Reserve Forest ( Brennan and Jones 1960). Type host: Amazona amazonica (L., 1766) ( Psittaciformes : Psittacidae ). Type depository: USNM (holotype and paratypes), FMNH (paratypes), NHMUK (paratypes) and
SAM (paratypes). Panama records. This species was found on a bat, V. spectrum ( Chiroptera : Phyllostomidae ), from Bocas del Toro Province, an unidentified of bat from Las Palmitas, Los Santos Province, a marsupial, D. marsupialis ( Didelphimorphia : Didelphidae ), from Summit Botanical Gardens, Panama City, Panama Province ; and a porcupine, C. quichua (= C. rothschildi ) ( Rodentia : Erethizontidae ), from Pedro Miguel River, Panama Province ( Brennan and Yunker 1966).
