( Figs. 30a–30e)

Description. Length: 5.0– 5.5 mm. Member of the O. rarus group ( Fig. 5). Vertex angulate, median length about equal to distance between eyes at posterior margin. Vertex with transverse apical brown band extending to ocelli, apical anterior part with clear mark bordered with brown, with brown band extending laterally; behind apical band, lightly bordered with pale brown-orange; internal margen of eye bordered with thin pale yellow; rest of vertex yellow-orange. Pronotum with yellowish brown to orange tones, with irregular orange bands along anterior margen, posteriorly with several spots bordered with yellow. Scutellum with central triangle yellow-orange, with white and brown border, large orange spots bordered with pale yellow in basal angle laterally. Anterior wing yellow, with several white marks and a few elongate brown marks; veins brown, usually with brown spots at the end of the costal veinlets, claval veins and claval suture; apical cells with brown marks; usually with brown spots along costa and commissural line.

Male genitalia: Pygofer about 1.5 times as long as greatest width; apical portion short, slightly projected, truncate, almost square; apex wide and concave; with few medium-sized macrosetae dispersed along apical third ( Fig. 30a). Valve triangular, margins rounded, in the middle slightly curved. Plates long, apex pointed; with a few short, dispersed setae ( Fig. 30b). Style with apophysis long ( Fig. 30c). Aedeagus in ventral view wide at base, slightly curved; shaft straight, very narrow, rounded apically, shorter than ventral processes; dorsal projection with lateral extension ( Fig. 30d). Ventral processes arising close to base of aedeagus, diverging from base, long, wide, tapered, with apices pointed. Shaft in lateral view very wide basally, curved; dorsal projection short, narrow, pointed, slightly curved caudad. Gonopore subapical. In lateral view ventral processes separated from shaft at base, curved dorsad, tapered, slightly expanded then tapered about one-third of the distance before apices, the latter narrowly pointed ( Fig. 30e).

Diagnosis. Externally very similar to O. rarus and O. villamills , but in lateral view the aedeagal shaft of O. expositus is wider than the other two species; the ventral processes are divergent as in O. villamills . In ventral view O. rarus has the apices of the ventral processes convergent.

Distribution. Known only from Costa Rica; 100–3100 m.

Etymology. This species is named for the divergent aedeagal processes in ventral view.
