Remarks. The larva of S. clupeifer was formerly described by Thor (1914), Sparing (1959), Tuzovskij (1977), Ullrich (1976), Wainstein (1980), Martin (2000, 2006) and Müller (2015). Hitherto, no characters are known to separate the subgenera of Sperchon larvae.
The combination of diagnostic characters such as a relatively small dorsal plate (length <100µm), relatively long setae of the dorsal idiosoma (<100µm) and clearly striated legs enables a separation of the other Sperchon species of the site.
