Description: Wiehle (1960: 506, figs 935–941), Roberts (1987: 84, figs 36e, 39h).

Previous records: Braga: Vila Nova de Famalicão , Joane ( Machado 1937) .

New records: Aveiro: Dunas de São Jacinto NR, 1 female, spring 2003, A. C. Rufino leg (IMAR). Castelo Branco: Covilhã, Serra da Estrela (CBM). Coimbra: Paúl de Arzila NR, 2 females, 28.V.2008, L. Crespo et al. leg. (CRB). Viana do Castelo: Viana do Castelo (CBM) .

Distribution: Palearctic.

Habitat type: The species mostly prefers damp habitats, usually close to rivers.

Phenology: Adult specimens were only collected in spring, whereas in temperate Europe, adults occur in autumn and winter ( Wiehle 1960).
