Type locality. EC, Umtata area, mouth of the Umtata-Umtata river.

Distribution. Known from Pondoland, in the north-eastern part of Eastern Cape (previously known as Transkei). Few sites at the mouth of Umtata-Umtata river.

Remarks. Holotype NMSA/Olig.01068. SMNH ‘Type-2656’. Upon examination of the species description and the type material it became clear that the assemblage of characters indicates that this species belongs to the genus Parachilota , and Plisko (2006) already listed it in this genus.
