Type locality. LP, Zoutpansberg (= Soutspanberg) ‘kloof’ north-west of Makhado (= Louis Trichard) in native forest.
Distribution. Known from numerous sites, in two provinces: LP: Eastern side of central Drakensberg. Northern escarpment at Soutspanberg Haenertzberg area, at Dr. Thompson's Farm, in native forest humus, and in soil on the streamside. KZN, Drakensberg: Rainbow Gorge Forest, bank Neumeni stream; Cathedral Peak area.
Remarks. Holotype BMNH 1938.7.1.1294. Other material SAMC A21596 (n.sp.)?; HNHM AF/2343, AF/ 2355, AF/2353AF/2345, AF/2349 AF/2518; NMSA/Olig.00913.
