Remarks. Pickford (1937: 286) under the heading ” Parachilota cognettianus ” gives a short discussion on ‘Raciation’ observed in a group of specimens accredited to this species. Location of nephridial pores and intensity of pigmentation are included in a short key to three subspecies: P. cognettianus cognettianus , P. cognettianus pictus , P. cognettianus tsitsikamae , and a group of transitional forms. In this checklist the subspecies are accepted, although evaluation of the characters applied for subspescies division, and a revision of the studied material is suggested.
