Parachilota transvaalensis (Ljungström, 1972) View in CoL comb. n.

Udeina transvaalensis Ljungström, 1972b: 106 View in CoL . (*see Genus Parachilota View in CoL . Remarks) Udeina transvaalensis: Reynolds & Cook 1976: 182 View in CoL .

Udeina transvaalensis View in CoL = Parachilota transvaalensis View in CoL : NMSAD.

Type locality. NW, Potchefstroom (garden soil & potato-field).

Distribution. Known from two neighbouring sites in the North Western province, both from arable fields, Potchefstroom and Parys. Species findings in cultivated fields suggest transportation from other sites. Resampling of the known sites and in neighbouring areas is recommended.

Remarks. Holotype SMNH ‘type’-2658. Syntype NMSA/Olig.03875. After examination of the species description and syntype material it became clear that the acanthodriline characters (two pairs of prostates with their pores in 17 and 19, male pores in 18, and paired spermathecae in segment 8 and 9) indicate that this species belongs to the genus Parachilota . Reynolds & Cook (1976) indicate type material location at ZIPU (= NWUP). Syntype NMSA/Olig.03875, possibly from NWUP material.
