Type locality. WC, Witteberg Mts, Avoca Farm, bank of the stream by Helen's Pool at the foot of the waterfall.

Distribution. Species known from distant sites in three provinces. In Drakensberg mountain range in WC: Wittberg Mts; KZN: Summit of Mont-aux-Sources, on the KZN-Lesotho border. KZN midlands: Karkloof Nature Reserve (erroneus collection data in Zicsi (1998: 64) as ‘Naturschutzgebiet Entumeni’). EC: Hogsback, Auckland Forest at eastern foot-hills of Drakensberg; and in coastal-belt in south-easter part of province, the Tsitsikamma National Park.

Remarks. Paratype SAMC A20616. Other material HNHM AF/2514; AMSA (no Accesion number); NMSA/ Olig.00232. Reynolds & Cook (1976) indicate type location in BMNH 1938.7.1.1239, not confirmed here.
