Dexiomorpha nigripes Villeneuve, 1920: 203 View in CoL . Type locality: Algeria and Tunisia. Lectotype ♂ (RBINS) not examined. References: Herting & Dely-Draskovits (1993: 364; Pealearctic catalog); Cerretti & Tschorsnig (2012: 273, 285; species and key); Zhang et al. (2013: 139; checklist).

Dexiomorpha smyrnaea Villeneuve, 1928: 59 View in CoL . Type locality: Smyrna [= Izmir] ( Turkey).

Diagnosis. Frons 1/11–1/7 of head width in male; parafacial with 4–6 rows of long setae, the longest varying between 5/6 (male) and 1/3 (female) of parafacial width at midlength. First flagellomere light brown to black; aristal hairs 0.9–1.4 times as long as width of 1 st flagellomere . Postpronotum entirely black; scutellum darker near base. Inner margin of lower calypter, along scutellum, dark brown or black, distinctly darker than outer margin. Basicosta yellow to light brown. Legs black except reddish-yellow knees. Abdominal ground colour black; tergite 4 usually with 1 pair of median discal setae (sometimes 2 pairs in male).

Material examined. China: 1 ♂, Beijing, Badaling , 700 m, 3.VII.1974, Y.- S. Shi leg. ( IZCAS) .

Distribution. Algeria, China, Greece, Israel, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey.

Remarks. We recognized this species from Cerretti & Tschorsnig (2012). It is similar to E. picta (Meigen) , but differs from the latter in having narrower frons, first flagellomere light brown to black, and postpronotum entirely black.
