Diagnosis. Colonies of upright polyps arising from stolons that may coalesce into small or extensive basal membranes. Polyp bodies, basal membranes and stolons are covered by a cuticle. Polyp tentacles snakelike, without pinnules, able to be withdrawn by a process of invagination. Sclerites absent. Zooxanthellate.
Type species. Clavularia amboinensis Burchardt, 1902 , here designated = Acrossota amboinensis n. comb.
