Eugenia galalonensis has a wide distribution in the American continent, ranging from Florida ( USA) to Colombia, even occurring in Cuba ( WCSP 2020). In the Mexican territory the species is known in the biomes of Humid, Dry Tropical Forests and in the Humid Montane Forest, as well as in mangrove and swamp areas, from 0 to 1,400 m elev. Nine collection records were found for the country, located in reserves such as the “Calakmul Biosphere Reserve” in Campeche, and close to the “El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve”, Selva El Ocote Biosphere Reserve and “Reserva de la Biosphere” La Sepultura Biosphere, in Chiapas and the Pantanos de Centla Biosphere Reserve, in Tabasco (INESEMARNAP 1999a, INE-SEMARNAP 1999b, CONANP 2001, INE-SEMARNAP 2000b). The estimated extent of occurrence (EOO) exceeds the thresholds for a threatened category under the criterion B. The area of occupancy (AOO) would likely exceed the thresholds of any threatened category when the remaining habitat available is taken in account, due to unbalanced surveys in the entire range. Regarding the occurrence within protected lands, the habitat of this species remains in good condition ( CONABIO 2018), so Eugenia galalonensis is classified as Least Concern (LC).
