Gyrinus pectoralis LeConte. A single specimen is on record at the Illinois Natural History Survey (INHS), but has no collection/location data associated with it, other than it was collected in Iowa (Ed DeWalt, INHS, personal communication). Distribution : Northern transcontinental in the USA, with Iowa forming part of the southern border in the Midwest.
