TYPE LOCALITY: Arabia .

DISTRIBUTION: S. E. Arabian Peninsula; formerly Iraq.

COMMENT: Included in O. gazella by Haltenorth, 1963:88; but see Harrison, 1968:344, and Ansel, 1972, Part 15:48. Probably became extinct in wild, but maintained in captivity, and recently reintroduced into Arabia.

PROTECTED STATUS: CITES - Appendix I and U.S. ESA - Endangered.
