Genus diagnosis

A.I has eight segments and terminal aesthetascs on the fifth to eighth segments; very short plumose setae and the remaining curved, claw-like setae are short, strong and barbed. A.II has five segments, the setae are also claw-like, short, strong and barbed, and the fifth segment has a plumose subterminal seta. Lb. with eight main teeth and six lateral teeth on both sides. Mx.I with proximal endite having four claws and distal endite with six claws and the three lateral setae as strong barbed claws. Mx.II with four segments. Exopods of Th I to VII with one segment and strong barbed claw-like setae; epipod absent on Th I; endopods of Th I to VII without dorsal (outer marginal) setae, and all other setae with strong, barbed claws, except the setae of four segments that present a common aspect. Female Th VIII big, elongated, one-segmented and with one distal small tooth. First pair of pleopods present, one-segmented and with two strong terminal barbed setae that resemble claws. Sympod of uropod with homonomous row of spines; endopod with two strong distal spines, two apical small barbed setae and two more stronger barbed setae, resembling claws; exopod with six strong and short barbed claw-like setae.
