https://zoobank.org/ urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act:DEEEE593-083C-4E5D-A032-770F7EA71C58
Type species: Telnovius brunneus Legalov , sp. nov.
Diagnosis. Body uniformly brown; rostrum weakly curved and shorter than pronotum in males, straight and longer than pronotum in females, in males ventrally with semierect setae; compound eyes finely faceted; head constricted posterior to eyes; lateral margins of pronotum with sharply denticulate; elytra without longitudinal carinae; femora without teeth; profemora strongly widened; meso- and metafemora slender.
Etymology. Patronymic. In honour of Dmitry Telnov (Natural History Museum London, United Kingdom), who assist with my research of curculionoid beetles.
Comparison. The new genus differs from Pseudometrioxena Legalov, 2023 in the femora lacking teeth, the rather thick and short rostrum, the sharply denticulate lateral margins of pronotum, and the slender meso- and metafemora. It can be distinguished from the genus Vladimirixena Legalov, 2009 in the noncarinate elytra.
Composition. Type species.
