Distribution. Cosmopolitan between 40°N and 45°S, it is commonly found in the California Current area ( Ibarra Rivera & Hendrickx 2008). The specimens reported herein were collected in the known distribution area of this species, off the west coast of the Baja California Peninsula ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 ). Distribution pattern observed by Ibarra Rivera & Hendrickx (2008) off western Baja California almost matched what is reported herein for this species, but with sampling stations much further away from the coast.
