Diagnosis. Larvae with the following features (n = 8): fnGe = 4-2-2; fnTi = 6-5-5; fnTa = 18-13-13; fζ = 2-0-0; fε = 1-1-0; microseta present on Ti I; SD = 107–117; leg I 276 290; leg II 249–269; leg III 286–315; IP = 813–869.
Description (n = 8). Milky white colour when alive. Idiosoma fully engorged, 851 long, 584 wide. Idiosoma dorsally with a scutum, scutellum, pair of ocular sclerites and 31 (30–32 in paratypes) dorsal setae ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ). Scutum oval in shape, anterior and posterior margins convex ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 ); AM and PL setae barbed; PL setae anterolateral to sensillary setae (S); AL setae bifid, between AM and PL setae; S long, slender, with setules in distal half. Scutum and scutellum with punctation. Scutum with chitinous portion anterior to AL bases in lateral parts (shown by gray colour in Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 ) which are thickened near AL bases and constitute eye-like organ (shown by black circle). Scutellum wider than long, anterior margin concave and posterior margin convex in lateral parts and concave in median part. Scutellum with two barbed setae.
A pair of eye plates posterolateral to scutum. Eye plate 27 long and 14 wide. Anterior eye 9 in diameter, posterior eye 7 in diameter ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ). All dorsal setae barbed and on platelets ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ).
Ventral opisthosoma with 31 (44 in one paratype and 30–33 in other paratypes) barbed setae posterior to coxae III and anus. All ventral setae on platelets ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 ). NDV= 31 (+2) + 31= 62 (+2) in holotype, in paratypes NDV= 60–74.
Podosoma with a pair of intercoxal setae (3a), barbed, 17 long. Coxae I-II contiguous, coxa I with three bifid setae and a peg-like supracoxal seta (eI); seta 1b1 8 long; seta 1b2 6 long and seta 1b3 7 long. Coxa II with three bifid setae and a barbed seta; setae 2b1 and 2b2 8 long; seta 2b3 7 long and seta 2b4 18 long. Coxa III with two bifid setae; setae 3b1 and 3b2 7 long. Urstigma oval and attached to coxa I ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 ).
Gnathosoma 66 long and 55 wide. Palpal trochanter, femur and genu without seta. Palpal tibia with one barbed and two nude setae, palpal tibial claw bifid, with divergent and blunt terminations ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 ). Palptarsus with one nude, three barbed setae, a solenidion and an eupathidium. fPp: 0-0-0- BNN 2-BBBNω. Chelicerae robust. Cheliceral body 43 long and 17 wide; cheliceral blade sickle-shaped with a subterminal tooth, 15 long ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 ). Subcapitulum with nude adoral setae (cs), 11 long and bifid subcapitular setae (bs), 8 long.
Leg segmentation formula: 6-6-6. Tarsi with two falciform lateral claws and a long and slender empodium. Tarsal claw formula 3-3-3.
Leg setal formula: Leg I: Ta- 1ω, 1ε, 2ζ, 18n; Ti- 2φ, 1κ, 6n; Ge- 2σ, 1κ, 4n; Fe- 6n; Tr- 1n; Cx- 3n (+1 eI) ( Figs 5–6 View FIGURE 5 View FIGURE 6 ). Etymology. The species name is derived from the family of the host ( Tenebrionidae ).
Type material. The holotype (ARS-20100420-1a) and paratypes (ARS-20100420-1b to 1h), ectoparasitic on Opatroides punctatus Brullé, 1832 ( Coleoptera : Tenebrionidae ), were collected by H. Hajiqanbar, 28. 03. 2009 in Haft Howz, Mashhad city (36˚ 22ˏ N, 59˚ 59ˏ E, 1177 m a.s.l) and 02. 05. 2010 in Rahn village, Gonabad city (34˚ 20ˏ N, 58˚ 39ˏ E, 1132m a.s.l), Razavi Khorasan province, Northeastern Iran. The holotype and 3 paratypes are deposited in the Acarological Collection, Jalal Afashar Zoological Museum, College of Agriculture, University of Tehran, Karaj, Iran and 4 paratypes in the Acarological Collection, Faculty of Agriculture, Tarbiat Modares University, Tehran, Iran. Additional specimens are deposited in the Acarological Collection, Jalal Afashar Zoological Museum, College of Agriculture, University of Tehran, Karaj, Iran.
