Distribution in Brazil: AP, PA, AM, CE, PE, MT, RO, BA, GO, MG, MS, SP, RJ, PR, SC, RS.

Biological aspects: A single male from the Xingu River Basin was collected on the same conditions as the specimens of M. amoena mentioned above.

Comments: This is one of the species of Gerromorpha with the greatest geographical distribution, being common in lentic environments with presence of vegetation.
