Coluber braminus Daudin, 1803: 176 ; based on Russell (1796: 25, pl. 20, “Paragoodoo”).—A replacement name for Hydrus palustris Schneider, 1799 .
Status. A replacement name for Hydrus palustris Schneider, 1799 , objective synonym of Xenochrophis piscator . Synonymized with H. palustris by Merrem (1820: 124); synonymized with Tropidonotus quincunciatus by Schlegel (1837: 309).
Comments. Daudin (1803: 176, footnote) included H. palustris Schneider in the synonymy of his Coluber braminus , which should be considered a replacement name of H. palustris Schneider, 1799 .
