Description ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 3–9 )

Male. As described for A. similis except as follows: fore femur brown; mid femur sometimes brown dorsally (excluding base and apex) or entirely brown (excluding apex); stripe on fore coxa extending at least to midpoint of coxa; back of head usually brown on ventral half (sometimes more extensive laterally).

Female. The holotype female is lost and no other female specimens are known.

Male terminalia ( Figs 31, 32 View FIGURES 27–34 & 43 View FIGURES 39–43 )

As described for A. similis except as follows: surstylus with apex distinctly less than half length of epandrium; bristles on postgonite well developed.

Neotype: CHILE: Concepción : 62 km S San Pedro, 12.xii.1982 – 2.i.1983, A. Newton & M. Thayer (♂, CNC).
