Oecetis molecul new species ( Figs. 2 View FIGURE 2 D–H)

Holotype: male. Body and wings light yellow. Segments of antennae dark, narrow: first segment of each antenna swollen, second segment very short and round, third segment slender, almost twice as long as first. Hair coverage of antennae partially lost. Pattern and coloration on forewing as in Oecetis hades ( MALICKY 2010, 273). Forewing length (damaged in this specimen) approximately 8 mm.

Male genitalia: Ventral part of segment IX long, tall, almost rectangular, dorsal part short. Segment X very long, slender, and pointed in dorsal and lateral views. Superior appendages extending posterodorsad from dorsal margin of ventral part of segment IX and smoothly curved backward in crescent shape, long and slender, with wide base tapering to sharp apex. Inferior appendages short, thick, directed upwards, with small posterobasal angle in lateral view; thumb-like, straight, obtuse, with truncate apices in ventral view. Aedeagus rounded, stumpy, asymmetrical, with large, strongly curved sclerite and posterior projection from right side.

This new species is a member of the Oecetis antennata Group (MALICKY 2005) and is especially similar to Oecetis purucha SCHMID 1995. The new species differs from the latter by the pointed apex of tergum X, by the larger posterobasal angle of each inferior appendage defined by a deeper and broader excision in lateral view and more nearly digitate appearance in ventral view, and by the single strongly curved sclerite of the aedeagus (apex of tergum X blunt, inferior appendages each with a very small posterobasal angle defined by a shallow and narrow excision in lateral view and shorter and thicker in ventral view, and the 2–3 slightly curved sclerites of the aedeagus in O. purucha ).

Holotype male: INDONESIA, Lombok, Bentek, Kali Segara River, 08º23.654´S, 116º11.388´E, height 83 m, UV light traps, 31 August 2012, leg. MELNITSKY.

Distribution. Indonesia (Lombok Island).
