Genus Allophroides Horstmann, 1971 View in CoL View at ENA

The genus comprises 13 species (including a new Japanese species described in this paper), of them six occur in the Nearctic region ( Horstmann 2013b) and seven in the Palaearctic region ( Yu et al. 2016; Vas 2019). Three species, A. acutatus Khalaim , A. platyurus (Strobl, 1904) and A. rufobasalis Horstmann & Kolarov , are known from the Russian Far East ( Khalaim 2007), and one species is described here from Japan. This is the first record of the genus Allophroides from Japan.

Nothing is known about host range of any species in the genus.
