Description. Male. Body length 1.6–1.8 mm. Frons dark brown, broader than high. Supra-antennal setae present. Lower fronto-orbital setae absent. Lower interfrontal setae short, about 1/2 length of upper interfrontal setae and the distance between each other shorter than that between upper interfrontal setae. First flagellomere dark brown, 0.19 mm long, with an aspect ratio of 1.76:1; arista 0.41 mm long, 2.18 times as long as that of first flagellomere. Palpus dark brown, with 8 short setae apically.

Thorax dark brown. Legs brown, except fore leg light brown. Fore tibia with 9 short, near-dorsal setulae, the uppermost being longer than the rest. Fore tarsus with posterodorsal setal palisade on all five tarsomeres. Mid femur without sense-organ. Wing ( Fig. 29C View FIGURES 29 ) length 1.57–1.60 mm. Costal index 0.40, costal ratio 1.96:1, costal setulae length 0.07 mm, Rs without basisetula. Veins light brown, except A 1 +CuA 2 whitish gray. Membrane grayish brown. Halter brown.

Abdominal tergites dark brown. Terminalia ( Fig. 2A View FIGURES 2 ) brown. Both left and right surstyli ( Figs. 2B–E View FIGURES 2 ) similar. Each of them tapered to rounded tip, 7–8 inner teeth along the dorsal edges of left and right surstyli respectively. Left surstylus with a short triangular basidorsal process.

Female. Unknown.

Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin words obtusus (blunt) and finis (terminal), indicating the character of surstyli.

Specimens examined. Holotype, ♂, Qinghai, Datong, Mt. Laoye, 30-Jul-2004, Hong Fang . Paratype, 1♂, same data as for holotype .

Distribution. China (Qinghai).

Remarks. The species is similar to C. dauci ( Meigen, 1830) , but it differs from the latter by presence of supra-antennal seta, shorter first flagellomere, brownish membrane of wing, blunt apex and more inner teeth of surstyli.
