Conicera kempi Brunetti, 1924: 106 View in CoL (♀, India: Assam).

Description. Male. Body length 2.0 mm. Frons dark brown. Supra-antennal setae present. Lower fronto-orbital setae absent. Lower interfrontal setae 1/2 length of upper interfrontal setae, and the distance between each other a little shorter than that between upper interfrontal setae. First flagellomere brown, 0.30 mm long, with an aspect ratio of 3: 1; arista 0.40 mm long, 1.33 times as long as that of first flagellomere. Palpus dark brown, with 6 short setae apically.

Thorax dark brown. Mid and hind legs brown, fore leg yellowish brown. Fore tibia with 14 small near-dorsal setulae, the uppermost being longer than the rest. Mid femur ( Fig. 27D View FIGURES 27 ) with basal half bare, and apical half with a long and relatively broad groove, which about 1/2 times as wide as width of femur. No apical process of mid femur present. Wing ( Fig. 30H View FIGURES 30 ) length 2.18 mm. Costal index 0.48, costal ratio 1.85:1, costal setulae length 0.026 –0.027 mm long, second section with 10 setulae. Rs without basisetula. Halter dark brown.

Abdominal tergites dark brown. Terminalia ( Fig. 27A View FIGURES 27 ) brown. Left surstylus ( Fig. 27B View FIGURES 27 ) oval, with a small basidorsal process, and a lot of thick and pointed inner teeth. Right surstylus ( Fig. 27C View FIGURES 27 ) with a lot of thick and pointed inner teeth, and with a long finger-like basidorsal process.

Daming , 10-May-2011, Jianfeng Wang ; 1♂, Guangxi, Mashan , Guxue County, 13-May-2011, Jianfeng Wang ; 2♂, Guangxi, Huajiang, Gaozhai Grand Canyon (440m), 20-Aug- 2011, Jianfeng Wang .

Distribution. China (Jilin, Liaoning, Shaanxi, Hainan, Guangxi), Russia, India.

Remarks. This species was firstly described by Brunetti (1924) from Indian female specimens. Disney (1982) described its male sex. This species is similar to C. rectangularis Liu, 2000 , it is different from the latter by a broader sensory groove of mid femur, longer basidorsal process of right surstylus and its larger inner teeth.
