TYPE LOCALITY: Sweden, Lappmark .
DISTRIBUTION: Mountains of Scandinavia and tundra from Lapland to White Sea ( U.S. S.R).
COMMENT: Hybridization with sibiricus produced sterile male offspring; see Rausch, 1977, in Sokolov, ed., [Adv. Mod. TherioL], Acad. Sci. U.S. S.R., "Nauka," Moscow, pp. 162- 167.
