Musca confiscata Speiser 1924 : Replacement name for M. fasciata Stein, 1910 (junior homonym).

Specimens examined. 1f, Jazan, Fifa, Al-Tatweer Centre, 3–24.ix.2015, Malaise trap, H.A. Dawah ( CERS); 1f , Asir, Maraba, Al-Hudaithy Fruit Farm , 1–17.vi.2003, Malaise trap, H.A. Dawah ( NMWC) .

Distribution. The species was previously recorded from Saudi Arabia by Pont (1991); Dawah & Abdullah (2009); El-Hawagry et al. (2017). It was described from Seychelles. In the Middle East it has been recorded from Oman by Pont (1991) and from Yemen by van Emden (1948).

Biological remarks. It was recorded as a sweat fly on cattle and buffalo, it also feeds on blood ( Pont 1991). Larvae are only known to develop in cow dung ( Skidmore 1985; Gregor et al. 2002).
