Adults ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 ). Male. Body length: 27.0–30.0mm, wide 7.0–13.0mm. Body dark brown, elytra, pronotum and abdominal surface and legs densely covered with short light yellow pubescence; antennae and head with sparser pubescence.

Head with a groove between upper eye-lobes; vertex with a fairly deep groove between antennal insertions and with a smooth ridge on each side of raised areas; frons deeply impressed on each side. Antennae exceeding elytral apex by two segments, 3 rd segment longer than 4 th and subequal to 5 th antennal segment; antennae flattened outer side from 5th segments and 5 th to 10 th antennomeres internally spined at apex. Prothorax approximately nearly as long as wide, obtusely convex at side, lacking lateral tubercles; disc with longitudinal ridges and vermicular at both sides ( Fig. 5C View FIGURE 5 ). Elytra parallel on both sides and weakly narrowed posteriorly; apex narrowed externally moderately obliquely emarginated with strong sutural spines but without outwardly turned tooth at outer angle. First hind tarsal segment shorter than next two combined. Prosternal intercoxal process with flattened tuberculate ( Figs. 5D & E View FIGURE 5 ).

Male genitalia ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 ). Tegmen slightly slender, moderately curved, 3 times longer than wide; phallobase shorter than tegmen; parameres lingulate, with length about same as basal width, covered with brown setae, with distinctly longer and dense setae apically ( Fig. 6A View FIGURE 6 ). Median lobe slightly curved. Median struts more than half of whole median lobe in length; ventral plate longer than dorsal plate, ventral margin of median orifice blunt. Endophallus moderately thin and long, with a pair of slight ossified area in internal sac ( Fig. 6B View FIGURE 6 ). Tergite VIII wider than long, apex emarginated; densely covered with short brown setae apically. Spiculum gastrale about 1.5 times as long as tergite VIII ( Fig. 6C View FIGURE 6 ).

Female. Unknown.

Etymology. The species name is in memory of Professor Shunan Chiang.

Type material. Holotype: male, Huaping Nature Reserve , Guilin city, Guangxi, China, 18-V-2012, leg. Pang Li (SWU) ; Paratypes: 1 male, Jiangjunzhai , Mt. Mangshan , Yizhang county, Chenzhou city, Hunan, China, (4–6)- VI-2019, leg. Jianyue Qiu (SWU) ; 2 males, Tonggu , Zhongshan county, Hezhou city, Guangxi, China, V-2019, leg. native collector (SWU) .

Distribution. China: Guangxi, Hunan.

Diagnosis. This new species is very similar to T. sinensis , but differs in smaller body, broader tergite VIII, shorter parameres and lack of lateral pronotal tubercle. Also in this new species, the two median pronotal ridges are separated posteriorly by a median furrow and are fused medially, somewhat forming an inverted “Y” shape. In T. sinensis , the two pronotal ridges are separated posteriorly and meet only at the apically.
