Diagnosis. BL 1.35–1.65 mm; pronotum indistinctly narrower than elytra; elytra broadest distinctly in front of middle; antennomeres V and VI subequal in length; subhumeral line on each elytron distinct; median lobe of aedeagus in ventral view with its rod-like apical portion distinctly constricted in subapical region, apex subtriangular and rounded, lacking lateroapical corners; apical margin of apical projection strongly oblique in relation to the long axis of aedeagus and straight, in ventral view its left lateroapical corner forming small rounded lobe, and its right corner forming short, narrow subtriangular tooth.
Description. Body of male ( Fig. 248 View FIGURES 247 – 254 ) dark brown, elongate, with shallow constriction between pronotum and elytra, strongly convex, covered with light brown setae; BL 1.35–1.60 mm (mean 1.46 mm).
Head moderately large, HL 0.18–0.20 mm (mean 0.19 mm), HW 0.33–0.38 mm (mean 0.35 mm); vertex and frons confluent, evenly convex, vertex with a pair of tiny but distinct tubercles; supraantennal tubercles small and weakly elevated; eyes moderately large, strongly convex and coarsely faceted. Punctures on vertex and frons small but deep and sharply defined, densely and nearly evenly distributed, separated by spaces 0.5–1 × as wide as diameters of punctures; setae relatively long, sparse, suberect. Antennae relatively short, moderately compact, AnL 0.70–0.80 mm (mean 0.75 mm), pentamerous club indistinctly delimited; antennomere I 1.8 × as long as broad; II slightly narrower and distinctly shorter than I, 1.4 × as long as broad; III–VI subequal in length and width, each narrower than II and 1.3 × as long as broad; VII about as long as VI but distinctly broader, as long as broad; VIII slightly shorter but broader than VII, distinctly transverse; IX slightly longer and much broader than VIII, strongly transverse; X larger than IX, distinctly broader than long; XI distinctly broader than X, about as long as IX–X together, about 1.5 × as long as broad.
Pronotum in dorsal view nearly semicircular, broadest near posterior third, PL 0.40–0.48 mm (mean 0.44 mm), PW 0.63–0.70 mm (mean 0.65 mm); anterior margin short and distinctly rounded; lateral margins indistinctly microserrate, rounded except shortly before hind corners, where sides are slightly constricted; hind pronotal corners sharp-angled and slightly projecting laterally; posterior margin shallowly bisinuate; lateral carinae very narrow, not separated from lateral margins; antebasal pits small and shallow but well defined, each located slightly closer to posterior than to lateral pronotal margin. Punctures on disc similar to those on frons and vertex, deep and sharply marked, those at middle separated by spaces slightly shorter than diameters of punctures, punctures become gradually smaller and shallower toward anterior and lateral, but not toward posterior margin of pronotum, punctate area near posterior margin abruptly replaced by narrow strip of nearly impunctate cuticle; setae moderately long, dense, suberect.
Elytra elongate, oval, broadest near anterior third, EL 0.75–0.93 mm (mean 0.84 mm), EW 0.70–0.80 mm (mean 0.74 mm), EI 1.03–1.23. Humeral calli small and weakly elevated; subhumeral lines indistinct, equal to only 0.2 EL, each developed as a moderately sharp stepwise border between more convex subhumeral region and slightly less convex adsutural area; basal pit on each elytron large, located in small, relatively shallow and nearly circular basal impression; apices of elytra separately rounded. Punctures similar to those on median area of pronotum but slightly sparser; setae denser, longer and more erect than those on pronotum.
Hind wings present, long.
Metaventrite lacking postmesocoxal impressions, with relatively large and very dense punctures on sides and posterior half and fine punctures at middle of anterior part.
Abdomen and legs unmodified.
Aedeagus ( Figs 257–258 View FIGURES 255 – 262 ) elongate, AeL 0.28 mm, median lobe in ventral view with long, narrow and distinctly constricted apical portion with rounded apex; apical projection broadly T-shaped, with short and moderately sharply pointed right apical arm; parameres relatively broad, unequal in length, each with three setae all shifted proximally, i.e. the most distal seta is not apical but subapical.
Female. Externally indistinguishable from male, wingless; BL 1.40–1.65 mm (mean 1.52 mm); HL 0.18–0.23 mm (mean 0.20 mm), HW 0.34–0.38 mm (mean 0.36 mm), AnL 0.70–0.75 mm (mean 0.73 mm); PL 0.43–0.53 mm (mean 0.47 mm), PW 0.68–0.75 mm (mean 0.70 mm); EL 0.78–0.95 mm (mean 0.85 mm), EW 0.73–0.83 mm (mean 0.77 mm), EI 1.03–1.19.
Distribution ( Fig. 271 View FIGURES 271 – 272 ). Central-eastern and eastern Nepal.
Etymology. Locotypical, after Paniporua, the type locality.
Remarks. This species shows a remarkable variability in body length (from 1.35 to 1.65 mm) and proportions of the pronotum and elytra. However, specimens from all localities do not differ in aedeagal structures and punctures on the head, pronotum and elytra.
