Cephennodes mahisapala View in CoL species group

This newly established species group accommodates two new species, C. mahisapala and C. licchavi , described below. They share a generalized, unremarkable body form, except for unique modifications of the elytra in males, consisting of a small, diffuse and shallow circular circumsutural impression in the subapical region and a group of short erect setae behind the impression. The aedeagus is of the simonis form, with a long apical portion of the median lobe and a long and relatively narrow apical projection; the projection is curved and its apex in the ventral view overlaps with the apex of the median lobe; the aedeagus in ventral view resembles a claw of a crab.
