Distribution and habitat

Except for December and January, S. oblonga was found consistently throughout the year, with peak abundances in the spring and summer (ca. April to August). The different water parameters when S. oblonga was present and absent can be found in Table 1. The spring population was frequently associated with S. tremula and/or S. pectinata , whereas the summer population co-occurred with S. pectinata and frequently with Synchaeta stylata Wierzejski, 1893 and/or Synchaeta longipes Gosse, 1887 as well. Males were not observed.
